Prints and portraits: Includes engraved portraits of Lafayette, George III, George Washington, George I, Louis XV, the Duke of Gloucester, Silas Deane, and others. A reproduction of Trumbull's Declaration of Independence, (engraved by Illhan & Pillbrow), a depiction of the Old State House Philadelphia, a stipple engraving of the Washington Grays by C.G. Childs (Philadelphia : R. H. Hobson, 1823) after Gideon Fairman. Ephemera items include: An invitation to the Lafayette Ball in Philadelphia issued to Miss Nixon, commemorative satin ribbons: "The Nation's Guest La Fayette"; "Lafayette" (engraved and sold by J. Yaeger, first door below the Post Office), and "Tiller's La Fayette Badge. Liberty, Equality and Public Order" (copyright secured by Act of Congress Sept. 3, 1824). Includes several manuscripts.
