    Visual Materials

One manufacturer's advertisement/drawing book entitled The Calumet Prize Drawing Book, No. 1, published by Calumet Baking Powder Company, Chicago, ca. 1902. This booklet contains 6 leaves of black and white lithograph illustrations, each covered by a leaf of tracing paper. The inside of the front cover, as well as the recto of the first illustration, contain advertisements for Calumet Baking Powder. Two illustrated advertising rhymes are found on the verso of the last leaf and on the inside of the back cover. Instructions for use of this drawing book are found on the inside of the front cover. Some of the illustrations for copying are: a rhinoceros, a train, tulips and a can of Calumet Baking Powder. The front cover is a chromolithograph illustration of children dressed for a parade. "M. Umbdenstock & Co." (presumably the lithographer) is printed at the bottom of the inside of the back cover.
