The photograph depicts mourners and temple officials in front of the temple, and funeral wreaths from individuals, businesses, and organizations. A photograph of Taenaka is displayed at the center of the group. The print is captioned in Japanese, and credited to Izuo Studio, the studio of photographer Shigemi Izuo.

The image was taken at Sunnyside Cemetery in Long Beach, California, and shows a large group of mourners made up of men, women, and children, facing the camera, with the casket in the middle. The scene includes a long line of flower wreaths with ribbons in Japanese, and several oil derricks feature prominently in the background. The print is captioned in Japanese and is signed Ninomiya, L.A., a photography studio founded by Kinso Ninomiya in 1922.

    The house ("Haunted House") in which Edwin Powell Hubble and Grace Burke Hubble lived while he worked at the Ballistics Research Lab, 1942-1945. Note in the hand of Edwin Powell Hubble: "Haunted House, Spesutie Island, Aberdeen, Md., 1945." The wooden house stands adjacent to a dirt road, and a brick chimney is visible on the side of the house. A large tree is visible in the foreground.
