    Sabatelli report to French King Louis Phillippe I

    Manuscript titled "General plan d'une machine pour enfoncer les pilotis maintenant en usage a Davenport (sic), avec l'explication"; report written by James Nasmyth (Sabatelli) to the French King Louis Philippe I, dated London, 21st October 1845, concerning James Nasmyth's steam pile driver; includes colored wash drawing dated 1846. The report is written in English.

    Freedom of the Press Exhibit

    A copy of a speech given by Otis Chandler at the opening of the Freedom of the Press Exhibit on February 14, 1980. This exhibit was displayed in the Los Angeles Times building and displayed fifteen historical papers never before publicly seen from the Chicago Public Library's special collection. This exhibit was presented by the Playboy Foundation and displayed papers from the trial of John Peter Zenger. Other items in this folder include a two page press release and four letters of correspondence, one being from Hugh Hefner.
