Chip Carving

One art instruction book entitled Chip Carving, by Harris W. Moore, published by Manual Arts Press, Peoria, Illinois, copyright 1922. This book, 46 pages in length with 19 photographic and engraved plates, provides a very brief introduction to the history of chip carving. It is primarily instructional with visual examples of chip carving projects, and text. Some of the projects included are: a toothpick holder, a checker board, a pipe rack, a picture frame and a waste basket. The front cover is decorated with a chip carving pattern; the inside of the front cover and both sides of the back cover are blank. "1.50" (price) is written in ms. on the inside of the front cover.
