Wyatt was an architect who was a principal organizer of the Exhibition of 1851, after which he worked with I. K. Brunel and Owen Jones designing architecture, wallpaper, furniture, carpets, tiles, etc. He was made the first Slade Professor of fine arts at Cambridge in 1869. William Robert Tymms designed plates and covers for a number of books. The plates for Westwood's "Facsimiles of the Miniatures & Ornaments of Anglo-Saxon & Irish Manuscripts" (1868) were designed by him, as were some of the plates for J. B. Baring's "Masterpieces of Industrial Art and Sculpture at the International Exhibition," 1862.
