- Description
- A pair of half-length portraits of a husband and wife, each wearing period attire and set against a green background. The woman is holding a book and dressed in a white gown with large sleeves and an elaborate hair covering. The yellow at her belt, cuffs, neckpiece and cap ties create both movement and a dynamic accent across the surface of the image. The man is dressed in a dark suit with white shirt, neck cravat and collar, and holds the edge of his coat. The frame backboards are inscribed in pencil: Russell Hills Hudson and Ms. Russell Hills Hudson respectively.
