- One page from a woodblock printed book mounted as an album leaf. Illustration of five ways to paint orchid leaves with blossoms and bud with pointers. 画葉起手法: beginning rule of painting leaves; 左出式: left emerging style; 壳皮: shell skin?; 二鳳眼: second, phoenix eye; 四象眼: fourth, elephant eye; 五護根:fifth, protect the root; 學者先將此五筆習熟然後交搭左右皆同: the student first practises these five brush-strokes, then in a similar way, cris-crossingly adds on to the left and right.
