Sir Peter Warren (Naval Officer)
Warren wears his medal of his knighthood, the Order of Bath inscribed with the motto "tria iuncta in uno" (Latin for "three joined in one"), possibly referring to the three kingdoms—England, Scotland, and Ireland—held by the British monarchs. Roubiliac was lauded for his skillful handling of marble to mimic surfaces such as the lively way the cloth edging beneath Warren's breastplate curls around it.
