Subseries A. Friendship
Visual Materials
The friendship subseries consists of greeting cards, correspondence, poetry, visiting cards, prints, drawings, stationery, samples, and albums. Many of the greeting cards date from the Biedermeier era; they are in German and include mesh, gilding, paper wafers, and painted details. The albums include autograph albums signed by friends and classmates, and some contain albums of individual locks of hair or pressed flowers. Also included are correspondence, some of which include drawings, puzzles, and braided locks of hair sewn or attached to the letters.
