A color offset lithograph poster depicting an African American man and woman in embrace. The male partner is dressed in infantry uniform, while the female partner is dressed in a blue-and-white dress and spatterdashes. They are illustrated as holding hands and parting with one another, assumably the man enlisted to join the group of African American infantrymen marching with a 42-star U.S. flag behind them. The couple is centered below a doorstep on a walkway surrounded by columns, red and yellow roses, and white and blue flowers. The background includes blue skies with green foliage and trees. The drawing is accompanied by handwritten text in black ink above and below the illustration describing observations of the birds' diets, habits, behaviors, and physical characteristics. Signed by the artist, Bernardo de Velasco, in brown ink on the bottom of the drawing reading, "Dibujados de los originales en la Ysla de Sta, Catalina por Dn. Eve's Daughters Club presents "His Women Folks,"

Two programs created by the Phillips Temple C.M.E Church's women's club, the Eve's Daughters Club, for performances of the three-act comedic play "His Women's Folks." One program is from 1945 and includes a brown cover page printed with a photograph of the Phillips Temple C.M.E. church. The later program is from 1955 and includes a blue cover page printed with an illustration of nine women in profile. The play was written by Priscilla Wayne and husband Wayne Sprague starring a cast of nine female characters: Martha Lewis; Lucinda Lewis Breckenridge; Jane Lewis; Edith Breckenridge; Polly Breckenridge; William Breckenridge; Mamie (Cook); Liza (Maid); and Patrice/Patience Trent (neighbor). Programs include actor names, administrative information about Phillips Temple, and advertisements from local African American businesses in Los Angeles.

Sylvester Thomas Blue photograph album and correspondence related to World War II in China
Visual Materials
A photograph album and letters documenting the experiences of Sylvester Thomas "Bud" Blue, a private in the United States Marine Corps, in Shanghai, China, during World War II. The album contains 127 photographs: personal snapshots, photo booth portraits, commercially-made photographs, and a few photographic postcards of Shanghai. The album has no writing and people are not identified. Subjects include American and Chinese soldiers; images of war dead and destruction in Shanghai; a military parade; portraits of American and Chinese women; and scenes of soldiers drilling and at leisure. A few images show prominent figures such as Chiang Kai-shek and Soong May-ling, and other military scenes in Shanghai. Accompanying the album are nine letters from Blue to his parents in Danville, Illinois, posted from Shanghai and elsewhere between 1939 and 1945. One letter includes a newspaper clipping noting Blue and other soldiers being sent to the Fourth Marines in China.
