Novelty glasses, purported to allow users to see through or into solid object. The glasses are really constructed to create an optical illusion. Black plastic frame with cardboard "lenses" printed with red and white circular "hypnotic lines" with a small hole at the center. A feather is embedded between the layers of each lens and light is diffracted through them, causing a viewer to see slightly offset images, which create the optical illusion. "X-ray vision" is printed across the tops of the lenses. Printed instructions on the back read: Hold your hand towards the light. Spread your fingers and see the bones. Accompanied by photocopy of one of the original comic book advertisements for the product. "X-ray spex" were patented by Harold von Braunhut, who was also the inventor of Amazing Sea Monkeys. This pair is missing the feather insert in the left lens.
