Below the image is the title, followed by a short history of the Holyhead to Ireland mail service; on the left side of the history is "LMS" on the right, the badge for the railroad company. "E.R.O. 53331"--printed in lower left corner. "Printed in Great Britain by McCorquodale & Co. Limited, Glasgow"--printed in the lower right corner. "Property of John H. Kemble Nov. 1975"--on verso, typed label, upper right corner. Large print has been backed by a board and framed. The Cambria was transferred, 1 January 1923, from London and North Western Railway, following the creation of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway Company (LMS) as a result of the British Railway Act of 1921 which consolidated individual companies in larger units; the vessel operated for LMS until 1 January 1948 when LMS was fully nationalized and added to the British Transport Commission. Focus of item: Cambria.
