Consists of five mounted photographs. Two are of Rogue River Falls in Oregon and one is of Mill Creek Falls in California, which were possibly taken for use for a hydro-electric project. There is also one photograph of a burnt out and unscrapped trolly car of an unidentified company in an unidentified location, and one portrait of Mrs. Mary Ramsey Lemons Wood, an Oregon pioneer. Her portrait is accompanied by a biography and family history on the verso.

Consists of 18 photographs of people, places, and drawings of places. Some contain annotations written on the verso. Portrait sitters include: Brigadier General Oscar F. Long, Oscar Sutro, Charles Horace Mayo (with autograph), William James Mayo (with autograph), George G. Spurr, Captain William Ransom Johnson Pegram, R. A. Brock, Jr., Thomas Wallace More, and Rosa D'Erina. Locations depicted in photographs are: a drawing of Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site, the National Lincoln Monument in Springfield, Illinois, Ford's Theater, Marietta Historical Museum in Ohio, the San Gabriel Valley, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, and Eaton, Pennsylvania. One image is also a film still from an early Hollywood film, possibly Louis Chaudet's "A Political Tramp."

Eight photographs related to Henry Mayo Newhall and his family, including three cabinet cards: a portrait of Newhall at age 50 by Bradley & Rulofson (photPF 20142); a portrait of Newhall with his family by Rieman & Co. (photPF 20143); and a horse-drawn carriage in front of the Newhall residence, San Francisco (photPF 20144). There are also copy prints of the exteriors of the Newhall residence at 1299 Van Ness Street, San Francisco (photPF 20145) and the Newhall Building at California and Battery Streets, San Francisco in 1914 (photPF 20146), and two color slides and a copy print depicting an oil painting of Henry Mayo Newhall, artist unknown, circa 1850 (photPF 20147). The back of each photograph has a title and a number to a corresponding lantern slide. photPF 190-193 are photographs of prospecting in California, depicting Yreka, Chinese prospectors, and a prospecting party, and appear to be copies of photographs by Eadweard Muybridge. photPF 194-196 photos are views of Ellwood Cooper's Ranch in Santa Barbara County. photPF 197-199 depict scenes of workers and lodgings in Yosemite Valley as well as the studio of artist Albert Bierstadt. photPF 200 depicts the construction of the Bear River Crossing C.P.R.R. photPF 201 depicts trout fishing in Sonoma County. photPF 202-209 focuses on early Los Angeles County, with snapshots of ranches, orchards, vineyards, Los Angeles High School, and the homes of Maria Sepulveda, F. D. Bacon, and F. P. F. Temple. photPF 210-217 depict various locations in early San Francisco, including Telegraph Hill, Alcatraz Island, Goat Island, Woodward's Gardens, and the Mercantile Library. photPF 218-219 feature the Keystone quartz mill and the first quartz mill in Amador City.

Consists of eight photographs including a carte de visite, cabinet cards, and mounted photographs. photPF 2040 depicts a tally-ho with holiday makers in Elysian Park, Los Angeles, dated May 18, 1902. photPF 2041 is a photograph of what is labeled as "the largest herd" of reindeer in Alaska at Cape Prince of Wales, dated 1911. photPF 2041a is a portrait of Confederate general James Longstreet. photPF 2042 is a view of a street in León, Nicaragua. photPF 2043 is an autographed portrait of Theodore Roosevelt addressed to Max Farrand, the first director of The Huntington Library. photPF 2044 is a group photo labeled "Taft Reception Committee" with unidentified sitters in an unidentified location; a handwritten note on the verso notes October 1909. photPF 2045 is a group portrait of the original locators of Buffalo Hump. All are identified by first and middle initial and last name. Charlie Robbins, one of the most well known of the gold miners out of this group. photPF 2046 contains a portrait of Elizabeth Yount Davis Sullivan enclosed in a folder with a handwritten summary of her life and family, which is also included as a separate typed transcript.
