    Photograph album documenting a visit by five friends to Lexington, Kentucky, to tour thoroughbred horse farms, to Louisville to watch the Kentucky Derby, and other points of interest in the Blue Grass region, from May 2nd to May 9th, 1896, as guests of race horse breeder August Belmont, Jr., the members of the party were William A. Burnham, A. Lithgow Devens, A. Clifford Tower, Amos T. French, and E. C. Potter. With many photographs of horses, as well as images including group portraits of the group, the Kentucky Association Track in Lexington, traveling to the Mammoth Cave, and a raccoon. The album includes handwritten captions for some images and a handwritten daily summary of the trip on the last page as well as a menu for the Navarro Cafe, Lexington, Kentucky, May 5, 1896, for August Belmont.

    A collection of 12 photographs documenting newly constructed steel railroad bridges of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company in Northern California in 1896 and 1898. Six bridges are depicted consisting of the "Fourth Crossing" and "First Crossing" bridges over the Truckee River; the "Second Crossing" over Alameda Creek, in Niles Canyon, Alameda County; a bridge over the Cache Creek, near Woodland (Yolo County); an iron-pier bridge over the Cosumnes River between Stockton and Sacramento, south of Elk Grove; and three unlabeled photographs of the Harrison Street Bridge over the Oakland Estuary in Oakland, California, constructed in 1898.
