    This box contains copy prints ranging in size from 9 x 6 cm to 17 x 24 cm, one photostat (item 96), and some original cartes-de-visite (items 74-81, 95); a cabinet card (item 80); two 1913 postcards (items 45 and 58); and an original snapshot (item 57). All items are photographs; if the item description indicates "lithograph" or another technique, it indicates a photograph of a lithograph. The prints have handwritten descriptions on the versos or on an accompanying sheet of paper, which vary from a few handwritten words to several typewritten sentences. There is a discrepancy in the identifications of some of the people in the photographs. See Dolley's manuscripts for alternative identifications for some photographs.

    Los Angeles Documentary Project photographs by Robbert Flick

    Visual Materials

    Set of 15 prints by photographer Robbert Flick taken for the Los Angeles Documentary Project, a photographic project documenting various aspects of the city of Los Angeles for its 200th anniversary in 1981. Each 61 x 51 cm (20 x 24 inch) print consists of 100 black-and-white systematic views along the streetscapes of Los Angeles, each 3 x 4.5 cm presented in a 10 x 10 grid. Works for the project were exhibited at the Watts Tower Arts Center from April 20 to May 14, 1981.
