This set consists of 6 bricks of colored clay wrapped in tissue paper, and housed within a paperboard box. The box lid is illustrated with a color image of two children creating animals by using AMACO modeling clay. Illustrated instructions are printed on the underside of the lid. The last page of this 8-page advertisement is a list of products and prices. The leaflet is printed in blue and black inks, and is illustrated. The brochure is a single sheet, folded into fourths to create an 8-page pamphlet.

  Clay Modeling in the School Room

  One art instruction book entitled Clay Modeling in the School Room, by Ellen Stephens Hildreth, published by Milton Bradley & Co., Springfield, Massachusetts, copyright 1892. The book is an instructional guide for teachers, meant for use in kindergarten and primary school classrooms and is 76 pages in length. It provides general instructions for clay modeling, and features simple to more complex creations using solid forms of clay. The front cover is decorated and illustrated, with an image of a young boy creating a large clay vase. The back cover continues some of the design elements of the front cover, and features an image of a helmeted Roman figure (head and shoulders only). The book is divided into seven series: sphere, oblate spheroid, prolate speroid, ovoid, cone, cylinder and cube; each illustrated with line drawings and includes suggested items and directions for modeling. On the final page is a publisher's advertisement for "Books for Teachers published by the Milton Bradley Company". "5-" (price) is written in ms., in pencil, on the upper right-hand corner of the title page.

The cover depicts a seated girl, sculpting a squirrel from Milo modeling clay, with a box of the clay on the table in front of her. Pages 1-9 consist of projects and ideas for use of Milo modeling clay, and pages 10 and 11 are advertisements for various sizes and colors of the clay. The pamphlet is printed in black and green ink, and is illustrated. Additional locations and offices of the American Crayon Company are listed at the bottom of p. 10: "New York Office, 200 Fifth Avenue, San Francisco, 116 New Montgomery Street, Dallas, Texas, Santa Fe Building".
