Two advertisement flyers from the O-P Craft Co., Inc., of Sandusky, Ohio, circa 1935. Env. 1 contains a 4-page reprint from Everyday Art Magazine entitled "The Growing Popularity of Home and School Crafts" by Earle F. Opie. The magazine excerpt describes the "pleasures and possibilities" of art craft work and promotes the use of O-P Craft products. The flyer is illustrated with both completed and incomplete projects (e.g. examples of crayonexing, carving). Envelope 2 contains a 6-page (i.e. a single sheet folded into thirds) illustrated flyer/catalog of O-P Craft products and supplies entitled "O-P Craft Articles for Hand Decoration: Projects of Beauty for Home, Gift, or Profit." Some of the items offered for sale are O-P Craft color charts, Crayonex crayons, paint-by-number fabric designs, Prang tempera paints and craft mats. Title supplied by cataloger.

Three manufacturer's advertisements from the O-P Craft Co., Sandusky, Ohio, ca. 1935. Each of the flyers is printed on one side of a sheet; one of the advertisements is in color. The colored flyer, entitled O-P Craft Articles for Hand Decoration, is divided into two halves; each half shows images of hand-painted items against a black background. The represented are listed in the center column: "bracelets, rings, plates, buttons, napkin holders, buckles, mats, trinket boxes, No. 1700 Box, book-end, candle holder, and No. 1700 hinged box." No prices are given. The second flyer, entitled Ideas-Helps: O-P Craft for Designing-Decorating, illustrates craft projects. Rings, wooden bowls and plates, boxes, and craft mats are arranged on the flyer in groups with suggestions for use. Prices are not listed. The third leaflet, entitled New: O-P Craft Glass Holders, features five images of painted glass holders along the right-hand side and an image of an unpainted wooden glass holder on the left-hand side with descriptive text between the two. This 6-page (unnumbered) leaflet is made from a single sheet, folded into thirds. It is illustrated with sample designs from the book, and promotional text. Color in Painting

One portfolio of nine leaflets by the Munsell Color Co., Inc., entitled Color in Painting: a portfolio of eight leaflets with notes on the use of color in the paintings which are reproduced in direct color from the originals, by Margaret McAdory, published by Binney & Smith Company, New York, copyright 1926. The eight images reproduced on these leaflets are listed on the front cover of the portfolio: "The Nativity" by Luini; "The Lace Maker" by Vermeer; "The Blessing" by Chardin; "Still Life" by Chardin; "Madame le Brun" by Le Brun; "The Dance of the Nymphs" by Corot; "The Gleaners" by Millet; and "Nymph Pool" by Monet. This portfolio is folded into thirds; the left-hand flap contains text, and the right-hand flap serves as the front cover. The center section holds the leaflets, and on the bottom protective flap is printed "Compliments of Binney & Smith Company, Makers of Crayons and Water Color Paints, New York". The back cover of the portfolio features a bibliography. The first leaflet (4 p.) discusses the "General Instructions for the Study of Color". Each of the subsequent leaflets is a folded single sheet (4 p.), with the portfolio title above a 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" (approx.) reproduction of each painting. The text within each leaflet discusses the painting, addressing both color and composition. The last page of each is an in-depth color analysis, with charts, of the painting and reference to isolated elements and the Munsell Color system.
