    One pamphlet/catalog, copyright 1927, entitled Creative Expression in Design, published by Milton Bradley Company, Springfield, Massachusetts. This pamphlet is 32 numbered pages in length, is illustrated with color reproductions of artwork, and includes two additional unnumbered plates of sample illustrations on colored paper. Roughly the first half of the booklet is informational and instructional, the second half serves as an illustrated catalog of a wide variety of artist's materials, including crayons, brushes, paper and paints. A color image of a woman wearing a headdress against a green background graces the front cover. "Cover design by Margaret Voight, a pupil of Polytechnic High School, San Francisco" is printed on the inside front cover. "Copyright, 1927, by Milton Bradley Company, Springfield, Mass." is also printed inside the front cover. The inside back cover and the back cover itself are blank. The text of the booklet emphasizes creativity in design, especially in relation to poster design. The original brown paper envelope accompanies the pamphlet.

    One publisher's advertisement entitled The Art of The World, promoting the magazine The London Studio, published by Studio Publications Incorporated, New York, ca. 1937. This 4-page leaflet is a subscription advertisement for a magazine that "is to-day the world's leading source of information on matters of contemporary art: dealing with Painting, Drawing, Engraving and Sculpture: and also with the Useful arts, Architecture, Decoration and Design in a hundred and one forms...." The last page advertises several additional titles published by Studio Publications, one of which is Decorative Art 1936. The Studio Year Book.

    One set of art reproductions entitled Artist's Scrap Book, arranged by Pedro J. Lemos, published by The School Arts Magazine, Davis Press, Worcester, Massachusetts, 1929. This portfolio of art reproductions is comprised of 104 numbered plates and an illustrated publisher's advertisement for the portfolio. Each of the plates contain numerous images of artworks by a variety of artists. Each plate is numbered and the images are grouped and labeled by category. Some of the categories included are: Hillside Houses, Decorative Trees, Fantastic Figures, Busy Women, Feminine Activities, Colonial People, Figure Groups, Children of the Eighties, Foreign Lands, Birds, Animals, and Flowers. "Courtesy of the Ladies' Home Journal" is printed in the lower left-hand corner of each plate. The set of plates is housed within an illustrated paperboard folder; a paper label containing the contents list is mounted to the inside of the front cover. "Mabel Spofford" is written in ms., in pencil, on some of the plates.

This 6-page (unnumbered) leaflet is made from a single sheet, folded into thirds. It is illustrated with sample designs from the book, and promotional text. A listing of the contents of the book is given on the last page. The dimensions given are for the folded leaflet.

    One magazine, 1948, entitled The Chautauquan, Vol. 13, No. 206, Illustrated Edition, April 1948, published by Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua, New York. This issue is 40 numbered pages in length, and is illustrated with reproductions of black and white photographs. The front cover is illustrated with an image of Chautauqua Lake, with the words "Diamond Jubilee, 75 Years of Creative Americanism" printed at the bottom of the cover. The back cover is blank. A foreword is printed on the inside of the front cover, and a pictorial map of the Chautauqua Institute is on the last page and the inside of the back cover. As stated in the foreword: "This pictorial booklet presents in vivid form an account of Chautauqua Institution today." This issue contains images of the buildings, grounds, activities and events at the Institute. Accompanying this issue is a mailing envelope addressed to "Miss Mabel E. Spofford, High School, Gloucester, Mass."
