Description
Bound in black faux alligator skin. The title, "Belle and Her Kind," is embossed on the cover in gold. The number "27" is affixed to the spine with glue. The majority of photos are of the Londons' horses, and their offspring. Other photos are of Jack and Charmian London riding with friends, and also various cats and dogs.

Provenance
The nucleus of the collection was purchased by Henry Huntington from Charmian London in 1925. Additional groups of material were acquired by both gift and purchase from Mrs. London and later from literary executors Irving Shepard and I. Milo Shepard over many years. Further material has been acquired from other sources; the provenance of these items is noted on the individual folders.

Pages 1-17 appear to be commercial photographs produced for the tourist trade and not taken by London. Pages 18-47 are photos of California and the 1905 Tournament of Roses parade, which according to several biographies, London attended after his return from Korea and Japan. Pages 48-83 are photos from Japan, which were possibly taken by London.
