A bust-length circular studio portrait of Union Captain Charles F. Eichacker of the 22nd Colored Infantry Regiment, with his body turned very slightly to the right, inside a printed tan frame with scrollwork and hanging tassels. Eichacker has a full, thick mustache and beard, and short-cropped hair.
