Booth burning in a Virginia Barn

Description
Photographic print of an artist's depiction of John Wilkes Booth death in a Virginia barn owned by Richard Garrett. Booth and David Herold were cornered in the barn, his companion surrendered but Booth refused. He was subsequently shot by a Union soldier and the barn was set on fire. The image depicts Booth inside the burning barn. The barn doors are thrown open to the viewer so that Booth is framed within a pseudo-proscenium arch. The Garretts, soldiers, one mounted, and Herold look on.
