    San Antonio Fruit Exchange records

    Manuscripts

    The San Antonio Fruit Exchange records contains 46 items from 1893 to 1947, including annual reports, minutes, stock books and bylaws. The annual reports from 1894 to 1923 of the exchange contain information on the business practices of the exchange and its members along with comments that refer more generally to the citrus industry as a whole. The minutes from 1894 to 1924 are from Board of Director and stockholder meetings and contain information on the Exchange's day-to-day operations. The stock books from 1893 to 1926 contain information on the group's stockholders, including lists of names and actual stock certificates. The bylaws portion of the collection from 1893 to 1947 contains both the group's original bylaws as well as their subsequent revisions. Issues of prominence within the collection include the history of the California citrus fruit industry; the cooperative marketing of citrus fruits; the California Fruit Growers Exchange; the San Antonio Fruit Exchange; the Southern California Fruit Exchange; and Sunkist Growers, Inc.
