    Microfilm of a collection of typed anecdotes about early Mormon pioneers in Utah and Arizona, primarily written by Sullivan Calvin Richardson. The text opens with a general story of Mormons crossing the plains to Utah and early descriptions of settlements and the landscape. It also notes difficult working condition of laborers on the canal from the Rio Virgin, the building of settlements in Dixie, the construction of Call's Landing, and the giving up of homes on the Muddy River after some were found to be across the Nevada state line (where taxes were too high). The account includes quotes from settlers such as Charley Curtis, William Halladay, George A. Smith, Orville Allen, Lorenzo Watson, and Ammon M. Tenney. The microfilm also includes two poems identified as "The Transformation of the Pioneers," consisting of "Someone's Opinion of Arizona" by Charles O. Brown and "Answer to Some-one's Opinion of Arizona" by S.C. Richardson; a sketch of early Arizona by 'Lige Hancock; sketches of 1870s Arizona pioneers Peter O. Peterson, Andrew Anderson, Andrew Woods, O.C. Oveson, M.H. Peterson, and Andrew Locie Rogers by S.C. Richardson; the text of the "Arizona Song" by "some of the Salt Lake Boys;" and a sketch of Arizona pioneers by Joseph H. Richards.

    Microfilm of a typescript biography of Mons Larson, written by his granddaughter Violet Elaine Alt in 1935. The biography traces Larson's early life his Sweden, his conversion to Mormonism, his decision to immigrate to the United States, his sailing to New York and traveling by train to Florence, Nebraska, his overland trip to Utah, his settlement in Tooele, his decision to enter into polygamy, his colonization of Snowflake, his moves to Pima and Mexico, and his death in Arizona in 1890. It also includes a long account of a return journey from Utah to Snowflake with the Silas S. Smith company, which took a difficult route near the Green River and got stuck near Hole-in-the-Rock. It also describes Larson's wife Olivia giving birth in a blizzard during the ordeal.

    Microfilm of a typescript autobiography by George Thomas Rogers, written at Joseph City, Arizona, in 1950. Rogers recalls his birth in Utah and childhood in Arizona, including at St. Joseph, Show Low (where he was rescued after falling in a well), Lot Smith's United Order, and Flagstaff. He describes goings on at a log saloon in New Town, Arizona (including a tale of how Flagstaff got its name), living on the San Francisco Mountains in Arizona, spending winters in Utah, working for the Babbitts Brothers grocers in Flagstaff, and being whipped by other children in school for being a Mormon. He later recalls his marriages and the births of his children, as well as mentioning his work on the Hopi Indian mission.

    Microfilm of the diaries of Frihoff Godfred Nielson, covering the years from 1874-1935. The diaries primarily consist of brief entries describing Nielson's daily life in Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico, including local news, trading with Indians, Church affairs, and agricultural work. The diaries also chronicle his mission to the Northern States and his work on the Temple in Mesa, Arizona. The diaries are arranged on three reels as follows: Reel 1 - 1875-1876 diary identified as "Peters and U.P.R.R., Morgan County, Utah;" a diary dated 1874-1875; and two diaries identified as Sunset, Yavapai County, Arizona, and dated 1876-1879 and 1879-1886; Reel 2 - continuation of the same diary from 1886-1897; a diary dated 1898; a diary dated 1899-1900 and identified as Ramah, New Mexico; and a diary begun at Marshall, Illinois, and dated 1900-1902; Reel 3 - diary dated 1902-1935 and a brief, chronological autobiography.
