    Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations Annual Meeting

    Two variations of a speech given by Otis Chandler at the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations on Wednesday, June 8, 1966. Attached to one of the speeches is a fact sheet on the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations. Also included in this folder is a note from "SPC" to Freddie Miller regarding request for copies of the speech; ten letters written to Otis Chandler commenting on his speech, two are negative, two offer suggestion on how he can address the problems he stated in his speech and six are letters of praise, attached to one of the praise letters is a copy of a response letter from Otis Chandler; a program from the meeting; a copy of "News & Views on Human Relations" the Commission on Human Relations of Los Angles County newsletter; a one page fact sheet on the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations; newspaper clippings regarding Mayor Sam Yorty's loss in the elections and his attack on the Los Angeles Times and Otis Chandler regarding Chandler's speech; two pieces of correspondence between Mrs. Meyer Price Stern, Chairman of the Commission on Human Relations, and Otis Chandler, in which Stern thanks Chandler for attending and Chandler thanks Stern for being invited; four letters of correspondence between Rabbi Alfred Wolf and Otis Chandler regarding inviting Chandler to be the guest speaker, accepting the invitation to be guest speaker, and congratulations on winning the Pulitzer; attached to these last letters is a letter from John A. Buggs, Executive Director of Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations, expressing his delight in Chandler accepting the invitation to be guest speaker and he also relays information about the actual event.
