  Visual Materials

  A slightly elevated panoramic view of the dedication celebration of Western Air Express in Alhambra. There is a white terminal building on the left, decorated with red, white, and blue bunting, and a hangar on the right, similarly decorated. There is a large airplane between the two buildings, a smaller airplane in the bottom right corner, and a platform with people on it adjacent to the hangar. A tightly packed crowd surrounds the planes and platform, and stretches back as far as the terminal building. The Good Year blimp is parked on the runway in the background. Writing in white in the bottom right reads "Photo by F.M. Huddleston ; Dedication W.A.E. 4-17-1930."

The photograph was taken from the opposite side of the runway, facing the event, with the white terminal building on the right and two hangars in the center. A large airplane is parked in front of the crowd of people between the terminal building and the hangars, and some smaller airplanes are parked in and around the hangar on the left. There is one slightly blurry airplane flying over the runway, just right of center. At the far right and left there are residential areas. Two men stand next to a row of cones/lights on the left.
