    Blanchards map of Chicago

    No old shelf mark. MS note at the bottom states, "The Red lines show the streets where the Horse Railroads are completed. Within the pencil line is midling thickly settled." Chicago cemetery appears on maps from 1857, 1862 and 1863, but by 1868 it's gone. This coincides with the construction of the horse railroads, which began in 1858. Embossed floral design above O & H.
