This map shows the Arroyo Seco Parkway while the verso map of a wider area does not, indicating this map is probably from the early 1940's. Also, the Lion Park, listed in the "Points of Interest," closed in 1942 because meat rationing meant they could no longer get the ton of horse meat required every day to feed the lions (El Monte, Jorane King Barton, 2006, pages 77-88).
