Shows four rail lines traversing South Pasadena: Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railway (presently 110 freeway route), Santa Fe Railway (current Gold Line tracks), Pacific Electric Railway east-west along Monterey Road and on to Mission Street, Pacific Electric Railway along Huntington Drive and up Fair Oaks Avenue, Southern Pacific Railway line to the east of Fair Oaks, through current Park.     This hotel was formerly the Painter Hotel, and was built in 1887 at the corner of Fair Oaks Avenue and Washington Boulevard, Pasadena. The name was changed to La Pintoresca Hotel around 1891 (see notes). This view shows the front facing onto Fair Oaks Avenue, with palm trees at the sidewalk and foliage around the porch.
