    Dining room, Patton residence, San Marino

    Patton's office, San Marino residence

    Visual Materials

    A view of General George Smith Patton, Junior's office in the family house in San Marino. There is a low table in the center of the room covered with books, bowls, some papers, a bottle, and a lamp, and a desk with several drawers and niches against the wall just left of center. Three large safes are against the wall just right of center, with a tall wooden filing cabinet just to the right of them. There is a fireplace on the far left, two windows with curtains set in the walls, and three additional chairs scattered around the room. The walls are unfinished, and an unadorned light bulb is mounted in the center of the ceiling.

    Wilson House, Lake Vineyard

    Visual Materials

    The Patton Family Collection consists of 156 glass plate negatives, 218 film negatives, 875 photographs, and a negative book, 1885-1945 (bulk 1895-1907), created and/or collected by members of the Patton family and friends. Also included are photographs of Lake Vineyard II taken in 1971. The collection provides an intimate look into the private lives of one of Southern California's prominent families around the turn of the twentieth century. In addition to the images created by Ann Wilson, the collection includes photographs created by Joseph Harrison Lamson, Frank G. Schumacher, George Steckel, and James D. Westervelt.
