A service truck of the Maddux company is parked in a large, high-ceilinged garage. There are several automobiles against the far wall being looked at by men in white coveralls. One such man is kneeling by the front passenger tire of the service truck. Lettering on the side of the truck reads "Lincoln" and "Maddux Inc. 9230 Wilshire Blvd. Beverly Hills CR-4131".

A delivery man in uniform stands by the side of a Sparkletts water delivery truck. Writing on the truck advertises not just for Sparkletts, "California's finest drinking water", but also for "Lemolime made from Sparkletts", "Sparkleeta Club Soda" and "Sparkleeta Root Beer". The delivery man is holding a case of Sparkleeta Root Beer.

Traffic collision between street car and truck, Cahuenga Pass and Dark Canyon. 1924

Visual Materials

A view of the wreckage following a collision between a street car and a truck. The front of the street car is dented and scratched and the windows are broken. The truck is no longer recognizable as a vehicle, with the body completely destroyed and the engine laying exposed on the tracks. A crowd of men watch as workers attach chains to remove the truck wreckage from the tracks. A billboard in the background reads "Hollywood Knolls ; Homesites $1500 up".
