Signs at the corner of the construction site read "Rowland H. Crawford Architect" and "P.J. Walker Company Builders". Trucks are parked on the street next to the site with building supplies. The Copeland Building, also known as the Armory Building, on Spring Street at Eighth Street in downtown Los Angeles, California. The words "Copeland" and "Armory. N.G.C." are carved into the stone on the building front. A U.S. Mail letterbox is on the corner, and theatrical posters for a May 16th event at the Orpheum theater and "to let" rental signs for Wright & Callender at 235 West Third St. are hanging in the windows. With additional visible signs for Robert Sharp & Co. undertakers & embalmers (751-753 South Spring Street), "Buckhorn Water and Health," and "Imported Cigars."
