The Harold A. Parker Studio Collection of Negatives consists of 5157 glass plate negatives, film negatives, and panoramic negatives, 1889-1949, that depict commercial, residential and landscape sites in and around Pasadena and Southern California. The images provide a look at the commercial, residential and social development of Pasadena and surrounding areas during the early years of the twentieth century. The collection is especially rich in images of residential architecture in Pasadena, Altadena, and San Marino; images of Lake Tahoe; depictions of, and activities at, the Raymond, Maryland, and Huntington Hotels in Pasadena; and the commercial, social and cultural landscapes of Pasadena. The collection also provides, through its breadth and depth of subject matter, an example of the career activities of a commercial photographer in Southern California in the early years of the twentieth century.

Photograph album of veterans reunions and monuments at Gettysburg, with some Civil War images

A collection of 97 photographs, chiefly of Civil War veterans, monuments, and other views at Gettysburg National Memorial Park, taken approximately 1890 to 1910. The photographs were compiled into an album (now disbound) by John P. Nicholson, Civil War veteran and collector. There are a few wartime photographs dating to the 1860s, but the majority were taken in the years after the Gettysburg battlefield was designated a national park in 1893. The albumen photographs are various sizes and are mounted on boards. Many depict veterans gathered in groups at Gettysburg, sometimes in front of a monument for a specific army division. Women and children appear in some images, posing with monuments, and there are portraits of individuals in uniforms, mostly unidentified. Other subjects are: landscape views of former battlefields (with annotations identifying landmarks), graves, gun carriages outside a barn, cannons, visitors in horse and buggy, and the Old Soldiers Home (Washington, D.C.). Six small images on page 47 date to much earlier; there are two wartime images of Ulysses S. Grant and officers seated outside a tent; a group of soldiers standing by cabins; and single images of three of Grant's horses, "Jeff. Davis, Cincinnati, and Egypt," at City Point, Virginia, 1865. Some images are by William Tipton and one is credited to F. Gutekunst. The album is disbound, and two photographs have been matted and housed in Box 2.

A photograph album documenting an automobile trip taken by friends across the western United States (with excursions into Canada and Tijuana, Mexico), during the summer of 1928. The first page is titled "Trip West 1928" and includes an image of an automobile covered with travel decals captioned: "Home after 10,000 miles." Photographs show the travelers visited many national parks, including Crater Lake, Yellowstone, Glacier, and Yosemite, as well as other tourist attractions such as Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Catalina Island, Hollywood, the Redwood Highway, Vancouver, and Canada's Waterton National Park. Some images show the unidentified young men dealing with automobile trouble, hiking in the mountains, camping, and posing with an "old" and "new" car. The majority of the snapshots were taken in the West, but there are some images of tourist attractions in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, all identified in handwritten captions. The album has three pages titled "My Pals" for autographs; several men and women signed their names and home towns, dated between 1929 and 1933.
