- Winery employees work with wooden crates and barrels in an open space between three winery outbuildings on the Sunny Slope ranch owned by L. J. Rose in San Gabriel, California. A woman stands in the open doorway of the building on the left. Lettering on the side of center building reads: "Stern & Rose, Registered Distillery."
