This series includes poems, short stories, a receipt (recipe), and other manuscripts. There is a short diary kept by Otho E. Michaelis during the Atlanta campaign in 1864, the pages of which were torn from his chess record book. Also included is a manuscript written by an unknown author entitled "Life on the Plains" which is an early draft of a talk about life in the Army while stationed at Fort Shaw, Montana, in the 1870s. This series also includes financial documents and material dealing with American football and athletics; U. S. Army correspondence, orders, vouchers, and autograph notes. The photographs include a tintype, cartes de visite, card photographs, snapshots, and stereographs; with subjects including family, friends, soldiers, a biplane, and various locations.
