Michael W. Fitzpatrick collection
Manuscripts
The collection consists of 1 scrapbook, 1 framed photograph, and 1 service record book from the Marine Service Bureau. The binding on the scrapbook is loose with some materials detached from the pages. The scrapbook contains photographs concerning Fitzpatrick's service in Cuba, Panama, and Nicaragua, as well as friends and family. Also included are several types of correspondence, marriage nuptials, and other ephemera. To note is a Tropical Radio-United Press piece titled "Cressy's History of California" (based on a tourist pamphlet by Will M. Cressy) as well as photographs of the 1931 Managua, Nicaragua earthquake. The framed photograph features Fitzpatrick on the deck of the ship Talamanca, along with other crewmembers. The service record book contains descriptive information about Fitzpatrick and his time as a seaman. Enclosed within the book are 90 Certificates of Discharge dating between 1927 and 1936, and a December 1945 letter from Fitzpatrick's cousin Honora discussing the latest news out of Ireland. Also included is a Seaman's Protection Certificate as well and other ephemera.The materials concern individuals or places associated with Fitzpatrick and his career. Among the primary subjects represented in the collection are Fitzpatrick's service in Cuba, Panama, and Nicaragua. The collection also includes information regarding Fitzpatrick's time as a student at Drury College, club memberships, and his family.

Manuscripts
Materials related to a family of 17th and 18th century Dissenters, who actively did not adhere to the Church of England. The collection includes manuscript sermons, pamphlets, and letters written by various members of the Pearse family, as well as some family documents, including wills. Materials offer a multi-generational family perspective, as well as writings by women, on topics such as church and state politics, religious and personal belief, censorship, and early modern religion and activism. The collection also includes printed and manuscript works by other authors including Stephen Addington, John Howe, Edward Leigh, John Ross Macduff, Catharine Maria Sedgwick, and John Trotter. Also includes full transcriptions of a portion of the letters, transcribed by P. A. V. Hickling, an early owner of the collection. In addition, the collection includes the research materials of David A. Thomas, a 20th century scholar who worked with the collection and original sources to write a book, The Pearse Collection: Chronicles of a Preaching Family, 1600-1750, which was never published.

Horatio N. Rust Photograph Collection: Photographic album of Artifacts, and Indians of California, Southwest and Great Plains
Visual Materials
Album which includes many views of Indian artifacts, such as arrowheads, pottery, metal and stone relics, some of which were excavated by Rust himself, as he describes in captions. There are also views of skulls excavated in Missouri, 1879, by Rust. Rust's handwritten captions identifying items and where they were found, by himself or others, are of particular interest in this collection. The album also contains photographs of Indians from Great Plains and western tribes, and Indian schools in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Perris, California. There are two striking "before and after" photographs of Chiricahua Apache children sent to Carlisle Indian School, Pennsylvania. Also of note are many views of Southern California Indians, including portraits of Cabazon, Soboba, Luiseno and Cahuilla tribe members, some partially identified by family names: Estudillo; Victoriano of Soboba; Lugo (or Lubo); Casero; Costo; Pablo "Chief of Cahuilla"; Silvestre. Other subjects included: two group portraits of Yuma Indian men, 1891; studio portraits of Keokuk (Sauk); Billy Bowlegs (Seminole); Ouray and Ignacio (Ute); reproductions of drawings of Indians on horses; reproductions of 17th-century deeds related to John Pynchon and colonial Deerfield, Massachusetts; a John K. Hillers photograph of John W. Powell, George W. Ingalls and others in Colorado, 1873; scenes of the Indian Council at Pala, California, 1886; Old Creek Indian Council House, Okmulgee, OK; and portraits of Sam Temple and the Cahuilla woman known as "Ramona," who inspired characters in Helen Hunt Jackson's novel, "Ramona."

Michael Ramirez cartoon collection

Collection includes two Los Angeles Times political cartoons by Michael Ramirez. One is dated 1997 and is the eighth of thirteen editions made. It includes two figures, one figure reads "I have returned," and the other reads "Look dad. Another weirdo on the beach." The second is signed by Ramirez in pencil on the lower right and is edition 175 out of 175. It reads, "I'd like to see the environmental impact report on this baby..."
