Many of the letters are addressed to Stow, but there are also a few addressed to Edward J. Pringle and others. The primary authors of the letters are W.A. Williams and Joseph Lee.

Family members represented in the collection include: Mary C. H. Newell Pownall, Joseph Benjamin Pownall, and Lucy Pownall Senger.
