Collection contains correspondence, manuscripts, poems and ephemera related to Edmund Clarence Stedman. The manuscripts include a review of Rudyard Kipling's The Seven Seas (1896); the poems include "Madrigal," "Souvenir de Jeunesse," and "Custer." The correspondence includes letters from, among others, Frances Allitsen, William Henry Babcock, Ambrose Bierce, James Gowdy Clark, Albert Stanburrough Cook, Robert Lowell, John Williamson Palmer, Whitelaw Reid, James Ryder Randall, John Jerome Rooney, and Frank Dempster Sherman; some of the letters are addressed to Laura Hyde Woodworth Stedman. The ephemera includes a group of dinner place cards with the signatures of the guests on the versos and a photographic print of Richard Grant White.

George Sterling collection

A collection of approximately 70 poems and sonnets and three letters written by George Sterling. The poems and sonnets are typewritten and autograph, many are signed and some are incomplete. The poems and sonnets deal with, among other subjects, World War I, love, revenge, change, Carmel, California, and Jack London. One of the poems, "The northern star, the northern wind..." was found on the floor beside Sterling's deathbed and was possibly his last poem. The letters are written to Ambrose Bierce and Edwin Markham.

A collection of correspondence and poems collected by Arthur Bond Cecil; some of which were collected for the autograph value. The majority of the collection consists of poems and letters by George Sterling, including, among others, "Adullam," "The Hawk's Nest," "Nepenthe," and "The Strange Bird." There is also a notebook of poems by Sadakichi Hartmann; a letter from Issac Hull to Samuel W. Dana; James Ryder Randall poems; a John Singer Sargent letter; a James McNeill Whistler letter; and letters to Mitchell Kennerley, Frances Marion, James Rolph, and Upton Sinclair. There are also a few letters concerning material Cecil has in his collection; many of the letters with envelopes.
