    This collection contains 44 pieces of documents, correspondence, and ephemera of the Wiley Gold Mining Company. The collection is divided into two main parts, both arranged chronologically: The documents relate to the Wiley Gold Mining Company. James Thompson's name or signature appears on a majority of the documents. The documents include stock certificates, indentures, mining claim agreements, certificates of location and labor, company by-laws, warranty deeds, and receipts between various members of the company, and they are drawn in Lida, Nevada; Kansas City, Missouri; and Phoenix, Arizona. With documents that contain more than one date, the date of signature is used in cataloging. The correspondence also relates to the Wiley Gold Mining Company and includes business letters between employees of the company, as well as letters from officers of the company to potential investors. Several of the letters also include bills for supplies, expenses, and labor. The correspondence contains letters from Big Pine, California; Kansas City, Missouri; Lida, Nevada; and Phoenix, Arizona. There are also two folders of ephemera, one containing two printed sketch maps of Nevada and one containing various printed material such as newsletters and pamphlets related to the Wiley Gold Mining Company and to other mining companies in the area. The latter folder also contains a blank "Articles of Incorporation" form.
