The archive consists of approximately 20,000 typed and handwritten letters from 1948 through 1960. There are a small number of original signed letters that appear to be duplicates or letters not sent. The collection is comprised primarily of the manuscripts, correspondence and ephemera of Hilary Mantel. Manuscripts include short stories, interviews, lectures, scripts, articles and reviews, as well as various drafts and notes for Mantel's novels. The collection contains business letters and emails from publishers, agents, other authors, newspapers and magazines, as well as personal letters and emails from family, friends and personal fan letters. Ephemera includes photographs, audio materials and printed material, including some research material for her novels.

Selmer West collection relating to Christopher Isherwood bibliography

This collection includes a manuscript, correspondence, audio visual and ephemera relating to the writing and publication of Westby's Christopher Isherwood bibliography. There is an essay, in Swedish, by Ingmar Björkstén (HM 83269), a taped interview with Christopher Isherwood (HM 83270), letters by Christopher Isherwood (HM 83271, 83274-83275), Selmer Westby (HM 83272), California State College, Los Angeles (HM 83273, 83276), John Whitehead (83277) and Whitston Publishing Company (HM 83278). The material also includes ephemera: photocopies, printed material, B&W negatives, and clippings (HM 83279-83280).

Collection of Christopher Isherwood ephemera
Manuscripts
Collection consists of 32 pieces of ephemera related to Christopher Isherwood's career; the items were not owned by Isherwood but rather gathered together by the dealer. The material includes printed theater programs and playbills, articles and book reviews, an invitation, a book plate, clippings, and postcards. The theater programs and playbills are for "Cabaret" (1967), "The Dog Beneath the Skin" (1936-1981), "I Am a Camera" (1951-1955), and "A Single Man" (1989). The articles and reviews are published in "The Atlantic" (1964), the literary journal "Tomorrow" (1951), and "Theatre Arts" (1947). All material is in excellent condition.

Works, projects, and research materials
Manuscripts
Will Alexander's written works and collaborative projects: primarily typescript drafts or copies of typescripts; printed proofs; and some handwritten drafts. Many of the typescripts and printed drafts include handwritten notes and corrections. There are also copies of reviews of Alexander's work, and reviews by him of others' work. Interspersed with these works are Alexander's research materials, usually printouts of articles and information from the internet that influenced and inspired his writing. Boxes 10-12 consist entirely of research materials. There is a small amount of correspondence and biographical material also interspersed with the works, which is noted in the individual boxes. Box 5 includes the bulk of the correspondence; box 8 includes Sotère Torregian signed poems and correspondence. Box 3 also includes a few drawings.

Busch Gardens of Pasadena research collection of G. B. Cowles
Manuscripts
The collection consists of the material collected by Gary B. Cowles during his research on the original Busch Gardens in Pasadena, California. The collection is chiefly made up of 28 binders of research material that include newspaper clippings, copies of newspaper clippings, photographs, postcards, etc., all related to Busch Gardens, the Busch family and their Pasadena neighbors, Anheuser-Busch Company, and Pasadena history, as well as Busch's gardener Robert Gordon Fraser. Also included: research notes, ephemera, tourism material, monographs, compact discs, slides, glass plate negatives, drawings, watercolors, and maps. Cataloger noted Cowles' orginal item numbers and all of Cowles' original notes were kept and help with photograph identification.
