Juxtaposes the "old," unsanitary, unscientific, and pre-electric days with those of the modern methods. Features Hogsett Poultry Ranch in Pomona, California and the Poultry Pathological Laboratory.     Compilation reel. First film is "Electricity for the Modern Farm" (c. 1919), contemporary references available online. Followed by Thomas Alva Edison as he tours the General Electric Company lamp laboratories in Schenectady, New York in 1922. Part 1: 15:01-21:03 Footage of Edison with photometer and illuminated lamps; Part 2: 21:59-34:26 Mr. Edison and Dr. Charles P. Steinmetz ride in a car and are greeted by 20,000 employees, footage of Dr. Coolidge explaining process of ductile tungsten, 31:07 women at work in plant with lamps; beginning 34:41-39:16 President Herbert Hoover and dedication of Edison Institute of Technology at Greenfield Village, Michigan, 1929.
