    Electricity for the Modern Farm; Thomas Alva Edison at General Electric; Herbert Hoover at Greenfield Village, Michigan, 1919-1929

    Compilation reel. First film is "Electricity for the Modern Farm" (c. 1919), contemporary references available online. Followed by Thomas Alva Edison as he tours the General Electric Company lamp laboratories in Schenectady, New York in 1922. Part 1: 15:01-21:03 Footage of Edison with photometer and illuminated lamps; Part 2: 21:59-34:26 Mr. Edison and Dr. Charles P.     Photographs of Edison customer pumping plants

    Visual Materials

    Xerox copies of photographs taken in 1936 of customer pumping plants converted to electric motor drives. The pumping plants are mostly being used in agriculture applications, and the photographs were taken to promote electric-powered ground-water pumping.
