    A collection of letters written by Robert Southey to William Taylor, British scholar, essayist, and translator. The collection also includes two letters to James Everett and a letter by John Warden Robberds. Three of the letters by Southey include autograph copies of his poems, "The Wedding," "Inscription Under an Oak," and "King Ramiro." The letters discuss many of the important people of the period including, among others, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Sir Humphry Davy, Charles Lamb, Walter Savage Landor, Napoleon I, Sir Walter Scott, and William Wordsworth. Also included is the original separated binding, with the William K. Bixby bookplate; all of the material in the collection is still window-mounted on paper.

    Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley collection

    Manuscripts

    A collection of 139 letters written by Mary Shelley from 1817 to 1849. The majority of the letters are to her stepsister Clair Clairmont (1798-1879), but there are also several letters written to English poet Leigh Hunt (1784-1859) and his wife, Marianne Hunt (1788-1857), and one letter to English publisher and author Charles Ollier (1788-1859). There is a bound volume containing letters from Mary Shelley to British politician, writer, and literary translator Sir John Bowring, from 1828 to 1837, while he was editor of the Westminster Review.

    Series 6: John Thomas Duckworth, (1784-1802)

    The material in this series is arranged in alphabetical and chronological order based on material type. John Thomas Duckworth was a Royal Navy officer and this material pertains to his service during the years 1798-1802, from his part in the Capture of Minorca to his first two years as Commander-in-Chief at Barbados and the Leeward Islands. Duckworth is not linked to the Hamond family but this material is contemporaneous with other content in the collection. The material includes Admiralty and naval correspondence, Leeward Islands correspondence and papers, and ship's papers.
