Series includes letters written by and to multiple generations of the Pearse family. The letters detail the lives of English nonconformists which centered around the family and church. The subjects include family news, marriages, deaths, illness, medicine, religion, political news and events such as the fire at Whitehall in 1697/98. The letters are in relatively good condition with some damage but little loss of text. The documents include an ordination certificate, wills and probate, and a 1724 graduation certificate with an attached wax seal in a tin case; the certificate can be unfolded but the tin case should not be opened until the fragile seal can be conserved.
