Album of Japanese zoological drawings
Manuscripts
Brush and ink drawings, with watercolor, of a variety of Japanese fauna (approximately 70 drawings). Individual images on laid paper cut out and pasted onto Japanese paper. Several of the images have contemporary notes of zoological information such as species names, size, where caught, habits, and comments about when and where drawn. The animals include fish and crustaceans, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, owls, and insects. Several are dated 1804 and 1807.

An assembled set of technical/mathematical drawings, designs, and a few clippings either drawn or assembled by Mabel Spofford. There are 38 individual pieces, each in their own folder. Most of the items are technical drawings in pencil. There are several particularly attractive designs and planning layouts probably drawn by Mabel Spofford that are additionally colored with watercolor.

One drawing book of original and copied drawings entitled Drawing Book, created by L.A. Cunningham, 1854-1872. The book is comprised of 22 leaves of pencil drawings, some of which are dated between 1854 and 1872. The front and back covers are illustrated with engravings; the illustration on the front cover is of Egyptian stone ruins, and is within an elaborately decorated frame. The image on the back cover is of a floral arrangement, also within an elaborate frame. Many of the original drawings within the book are labeled in ms. by their creator, and include landscape views, views of houses, and floral arrangements or individual plants. "L.A. Cunningham, 1854" is written in ms. on the inside of the front cover. Accompanying this drawing book is a ms. note from DK that is a partial listing of the drawings in this book. According to DK's note, some of the drawings are copied from various Bartholomew drawing books.

J. Goldsborough Bruff poems and drawings

Photocopies of four poems and two drawings by J. Goldsborough Bruff. Poems include "Invitation" (1850); an untitled poem about the SS Central America disaster, a steamship carrying gold prospected from California and several hundred passengers that sunk in a hurricane (1857); "Life's Voyage" (1884); and "Recovering from the Small-pox" (undated). Drawings include "A Delicious Bit of Scandal," depicting two women talking (1849); and an undated sketch of a house entitled "Genevese, Lake of Geneva."
