Friday Morning Club records

The Friday Morning Club records consists of materials created by the Club and its members, dating from the year the club started in 1891 to is closure in 2012. These records document the activities of the club such as: philanthropy and charity work; finances; fundraising; ; the various work of the club's committees on science, art, and other topics; the construction of their clubhouses in Los Angeles; and the meeting minutes of both regular meetings and the board. The collection is comprised of subject files, financial and business records, membership applications and cards, manuscripts and essays, and clippings (1770-2012); publications printed by the Friday Morning Club, including their monthly newsletter, and publications printed by other clubs (1850-1993); photograph albums, scrapbooks, and meeting minutes (1891-2012); photographs, certificates, awards, and some objects that belonged to the club, including the bronze plaque that hung at the clubhouse (1890-2000). The collection contains material by and about several prominent members and suffragettes, including Susan B. Anthony, Sarah Bixby Smith, Jessie Benton Frémont, Margaret Collier Graham, Olive Percival, Idah Strobridge, Louise Watkins, Charlotte LeMoyne Wills, and the club's founder Caroline Severance. The collection also contains material about other clubs, including the California Federation of Women's Clubs and California Women of the Golden West.

Zonta Club of Pasadena records

The Zonta Club of Pasadena records consist of annual reports, awards, clippings, correspondence, financial records, a guest book, membership lists, minutes, newsletters, photographs, and printed ephemera, dating from 1929-2015. The records contain material related to the club's fundraising efforts in order to support local services for the community such as combatting the AIDS epidemic, child care, and providing fellowships to women seeking advance degrees in the sciences. In addition to financial assistance, the club staffed the Huntington Memorial Hospital gift shop. Notable individuals referenced in the records include Grace Nicholson and Amelia Earhart. Material such as newsletters and international meetings related to Zonta International are also included.

The Eugene Swarzwald Pictorial California and the Pacific Collection consists of 9,674 black and white photographs, negatives, a photograph album, magazine mock-ups, letters, and ephemera, dated 1909-ca. 1968. Eugene Swarzwald and the Swarzwald family collected the material for use in the magazine "Pictorial California and the Pacific." Images depict California and the West with some coverage of the rest of the United States and international destinations. The collection contains photographs depicting general city views of communities in California, scenic views of wilderness areas, images of parks, schools and universities, museums, and points of historic interest (including California mining towns and missions). The collection is strong in subjects related to leisure and social and recreational activities. Many of the photographs are by the Keystone Photo Service. The Southern California Edison Records consist of materials created, maintained, and collected by the company. The Southern California Edison Records contain books, catalogs, correspondence, journals, ledgers, log books, meeting minutes, newsletters, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, photographs, press releases, reports, scrapbooks, and other materials documenting the history of the Southern California Edison (SCE) Company. The records cover the years 1848 to 1989 with the bulk of the material ranging from 1911 to 1965. The material is largely textual with the exception of a few non-paper items scattered throughout.
