Most of the correspondents are readers who wish to praise or blame the newspaper, or ask for a job. Includes letters to senators Thomas Eagleton (3-pp., 3/7/1973) and Sam Ervin, related to Thomas' testimony before a senate subcommittee, and to "shield law" legislation.

Included is a 4-pp. transcript which seems to be of Thomas' testimony - it opens "My name is William F. Thomas," and deals with confidential sources of information provided to newspaper reporters. This may have been Thomas appearance before a Senate Subcommittee discussing shield laws.
