Description: "A memo, with a four page photocopy of an article attached, from Otis Chandler to James F. Chambers, Jr., Felix R. McKnight from The Dallas Times Herald, William Attwood, David Laventhol from Newsday, Robert N. Weed, and Thomas Keevil from Orange Coast Daily Pilot. The memo is regarding Board of Directorships in which Chandler is asking for everyone's opinion. He originally posed the question to Nick Williams and Bob Donovan. Their response are part of the memo. The opinions of all the recipients of the memo are included in this folder except for William Attwood and David Laventhol."

David Laventhol (1933 - ) attended Yale and the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining Times Mirror, he was an editor at the New York Herald Tribune, the Washington Post, and Newsday. Laventhol was President of Times Mirror from 1987-1993, Publisher & CEO from 1989-1993, and Editor-at-Large from 1994-1998. Series include correspondence, reports, and other material related to the Pulitzer Prize Committee, on which Laventhol sat, arranged chronologically. Date range is 1972-1993.
