Description: Four memos of correspondence between Otis Chandler and Bill Thomas. One is regarding the decline of West Magazine. The second is regarding a memo between Thomas and Tom Johnson. A copy of that memo is attached to the Chandler/Thomas memo. The last two are in regards to a project that Thomas and George Reasons worked together on.

Items in this folder included two copies of a memo from Freddie Miller to Otis Chandler, Nick Williams, Robert Gibson and Ed Guthman, regarding the details of the event; the meeting notice; a memo from Paul Bertness to Loren Hibler regarding staff duty details; two memos of correspondence between Otis Chandler and Charles I. Schneider, regarding praises about the event and possibility of Otis Chandler's membership; a memo from Charles I. Schneider to Nick Williams, Bob Gibson and Ed Guthman, in regards to pamphlets about the organization he is sending to them along with the memo; a memo from Mrs. Norman Chandler [Dorothy "Buff" Chandler] to Charles I. Schneider, regarding her approval of hosting a Young' President's Organization event.

Ten items pertaining to a KABC television interview of Otis Chandler by Ann Martin held sometime in May of 1978. Items include five letters of correspondence between Otis Chandler and regards to his appearance on the show; a memo from Tom Giuffrida informing Chandler that Maury Povich is going to be interviewing him; a memo with three notes attached to it, regarding scheduling the interview.

Publisher's Reception for New Employees

Two copies of a speech given by Otis Chandler at the Publisher's Reception for New Employees on Tuesday, January 24, 1967. One of the copies has red markings. Also included in this folder is an agenda; a memo from Otis Chandler regarding the reception; a list of to whom the memo is to be sent to; another copy of the memo, however this one is addressed to Rex Barley and has a note from Otis Chandler attached to it. Chandler is informing Barley that he is aware that he will not be attending the reception, but he is still passing this memo along for the information of his employees.

Eight items of correspondence in this folder. Two letters of correspondence between William F. Thomas [Bill Thomas] and Sam Yorty. A blind copy was sent to Otis Chandler. Yorty complains about not getting coverage on his television show and the fact that Otis Chandler stated that he missed him when Chandler saw him at a dinner. A letter, with an attachment, to Otis Chandler from Sam Yorty. A telegram to Otis Chandler from Sam Yorty. A press release two page press release from Sam Yorty's office with an attachment of his editorial cartoon about Chandler. A transcript of a commentary by Bill Bonds on KABC-TV. A transcript of the program Eleventh Hour News on KNBC-TV. A memo from Otis Chandler to Norman Chandler regarding a letter Yorty sent to Norman Chandler. The letter is attached along with a a two page photocopy of an article.
