Approx. 40 items: memos, letters, notes and an informational packet related to the LAT Educational Services Department. Two of the issues are cooperation between LAT and public schools and exposure of school-age children to the benefits of reading a newspaper.

    Approx. 15 items. During this time frame, LAT initiated a program of providing a publication titled Student Outlook to area high school students. It was a brief digest of news and current events. It was later proposed to expand this program into the elementary schools (5th and 6th grades). Other materials in the file include teacher evaluations of Student Outlook, and annual reports on LAT's Educational Services Dept. There is one memo (Gordon Phillips, 1964) on the Times Scholarship Program.
